We are offering optional, non-evaluative one-on-one pairings with Promontory members so you can ask any unanswered questions and get a better sense of what it's like to be in Promontory.

Note:

The Recruitment Buddy program and office hours with the Executive Board are meant to make our recruiting process more transparent and help everyone put their best foot forward when it comes to joining our community.

As a result, we want to emphasize that these events are optional and intended entirely for your own benefit.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: When do you recruit new members?

A: We recruit NRs in the Fall and Winter Quarters.

Q: What do you look for in a successful applicant?

A: We’re looking for intelligent, enthusiastic, and hardworking 1st and 2nd years who are willing to commit and dedicate themselves to our organization and who believe in the values represented by our club.

Q: How many New Recruits are recruited each quarter?

A: This Winter 2025, we are looking for 10 - 12 New Recruits. Our small scale is explained by our effort to provide a quality education through close mentorships and one-on-one sessions, thus forming a tight-knit community. We try our best to select candidates who will contribute the most to the club.

Q: How much of a time commitment should I expect?
A: Research Analysts spend 6 hours on average per week attending meetings and working on Promontory projects.

Q: Can I reapply?
A: Yes! A reapplication is regarded as demonstrated interest in the RSO and we look forward to hearing about all the things you've done since your last application.

Q: Do I need any prior knowledge or any experience in finance?

A: Not at all! Our goal is to enrich our community with hardworking, smart, and engaging minds who are always willing to contribute. Many students are more than capable of learning the education material we're offering, but we are looking for those who share the aforementioned attributes, who will add value to Promontory, build strong friendships, and deliver our primary mission to the campus community.
